Climate-friendly measuresát

• Heat-pump operation: a wellness hotel is generally a wasteful, energy-intensive operation, with saunas, steam machines, heated pools, air conditioners, catering equipment and large amounts of domestic hot water. The heat pump heats with A+++ energy efficiency and produces cold as a by-product for free. All rooms are temperature controlled by centrally controlled individual fan coil units.
• In previous years, the heating and hot water supply for the hotel was provided by two high efficiency boilers, which left limited scope for optimised operation of the large property with its large floor area and several floors. In order to operate more efficiently, a number of smaller condensing boilers have been installed in the hotel, allowing the gas supply to be controlled and used as required, thus avoiding overheating of certain parts of the building and achieving a much more energy-efficient operation.
• Over the years, the lighting systems have been replaced by LED technology in a phased approach, achieving significant reductions in consumption and eliminating unnecessary heat generation.
• By 2023, the complete replacement of the slate-clad heritage roof and the conservation maintenance of the supporting timber structures will have been completed.
• The majority of our cleaning products are now Ecolabel certified, guaranteeing that they are free of phosphates, nickel and skin irritants and allergens.

USEFUL TIP:

• When leaving your hotel room, please disconnect the power by removing your key card.
• To optimise room temperature, keeping windows closed helps to increase the efficiency of air conditioning/heating so that the energy used for cooling/heating is actually used to its intended purpose.
• We would appreciate the cooperation of our guests in changing towels less frequently. Unless not justified, to protect our environment and preserve our long-term sustainability, room and spa towels are changed every 3 days.
• You can indicate that you do not require daily room cleaning by placing a Do Not Disturb sign.
