Zsófia kilátó – Év Kilátója 2022

In August 2022, Lillafüred was enriched with an old-new observation deck. A true-to-life replica of the Zsófia Lookout, which was originally handed over in the 1900s, awaits tourists on the southern side of Dolka Hill rising above Lake Hámori. The lookout was named in honor and in memory of Count Zsófia Teleki, the wife of County Chief Bishop Vay Béla Borsod.

Just getting to the lookout is an experience: the more than 1 km educational trail starts from the Upper Hámor church, where cozy outdoor stairs and a small bridge make the journey adventurous. Hikers will have the feeling that they are walking on one of the paths of the Alps. The "queen of lookouts" offers a unique panorama of the patina Palace Hotel, Lake Hámori and the valley arms from a height of 390 meters above sea level.

The newest attraction of the Bükki National Park, the Bükk Observatory, located above Répáshuta, is one of the most modern astronomy and natural history visitor centers in Central Europe, with exciting attractions that prioritize science, experience and interaction. It is worth planning at least two hours to visit it, as it offers a complex program with the planetarium, dome, exhibition and virtual reality.
